The Last of Us - a roleplay forum
Greetings, and welcome to our site. TLOU is a text based, post-by-post roleplay that allows the player to immerse themselves into their character. TLOU is a dark post-apocalyptic world where humans not only have to worry about zombies but also about eachother . Unlike other roleplay games that spoon feed you visuals of how your character should appear or how the world is, text based roleplay allows one's imagination to roam free without binding it to a certain level of detail or physics.
Our goal is to provide an in-depth world and storyline to compel intermediate to advanced writers to exchange tales with one another, to write their own compelling stories and enjoy a breath of fresh air all the while focusing on character development..
We welcome all roleplayers to our site, no matter your age, gender, sexuality, religion or writing skill. TLOU will offer you all you will need to unleash your creativity with like-minded individuals. As the founder of this site, I welcome and thank you for coming here. May your adventures and stories be prosperous.
Below is a general list of rules that must be agreed upon and obeyed.
General Rules
Keep OOC and IC separate. OOC stands for Out of Character. This implies toward actions deemed inappropriate for your character, such as using smileys or mentioning how much you loved the latest Harry Potter movie. IC is an abbreviation for In Character. This refers to actions and words depicting you are playing your character. Think of roleplaying as acting a part in a play. You must act your role without deviating to actions not fit for the script. No bullying or harassing OOC.
IC Bullying is allowed, but anything that will attack the person behind the character personally is a serious no-no.Staff members reserve the right to remove your posts and threads should they be deemed offensive, inappropriate or misplaced.

Rules are subject to change and modification at any time.
Posted below is a list of guidelines to help you in your roleplay. These are not rules and you won't be banned for doing these, however it is recommended you still follow them.
Roleplay Guidelines
No God Modding. God modding refers to actions your character performs that are considered too powerful or highly unfair. An example of this could be a character who is an expert in every field. He excels at everything and can punch any infected to death with just his bare hands. Don't make your character overly powerful without the required evidence to support it. Keep things in moderation. If your character or it's abilities are considered too powerful, your posts may be locked until the player modifies it to a more acceptable level.
No Meta-Gaming. Meta-Gaming is defined through actions in a roleplay that your character may take without having the proper knowledge or experience of performing. A better explanation can be described through an example. Your character meets up with a new character for the first time and calls the other by his name without letting the other introduce themselves. They have never met before, so how did your character know the other's name without ever being introduced? Meta-Gaming is essentially knowing information or performing feats your character wouldn't know of at the present time.
No Power Emoting. Power emoting is defined as characterising an action with no flaws, or with the intent for it to be flawless. Similar to god modding, power emoting can impact upon others unfairly.
Please base your characters on the lore of the game 'The Last of Us'. There are many stories to be read. Find a place where your character can fit in and where their history will make sense. We do not accept characters coming from another world. I don't want to see any Naruto rip-offs running around.
Some characters will need special permission to be played. These characters are usually the 'canon' characters. A canon character is a character that is considered an important role within the story such as either Joel or Ellie. In order to play a canon you will need to fill out a character application and prove yourself worthy of filling their shoes.
Do not beg to become a staff member. Positions will be advertised when they are open. There will be limited spots so this means not everyone who applies will get the job. There will be no complaints over whom we select for the job. Our word is final.
